牧師と神父の違い

皆さんは、牧師と神父の明確な違いをお分かりでしょうか？

これらの違いを知らずにいる人も多いと思いますが、実は全く違うので
注意してください。

簡潔に言うと、

・牧師とはプロテスタントにおける聖職者

・神父とはカトリックと東方正教会における聖職者

のことです。

ですから、カトリックに牧師さんはいません。

牧師と神父の意味するところは大きな違いがあり、神父には序列社会があり、
牧師にはありません。
牧師とは聖職者ではあるが、一般信徒と差異はないという立場を取っています。

元々「牧師」という言葉は「羊飼い」を意味し、キリストが自らをよく
「自分は牧者（羊飼い）である」と言っていた言葉が転じてできた言葉です。

そこから自分の立場は他信徒と同じであるという意味合いで「牧師」という
言葉が使われています。

一方、神父の社会は、ある意味会社組織と似ていて、カトリックでは
ローマ教皇がトップにいるということからもわかると思います。

カトリックや東方正教会の聖職者には、それぞれ大主教、長司祭、司祭、
輔祭、等の序列があります。

そして、そのトップにいる聖職者には婚姻は認められていない、という
厳格なルールもあります。

このように、牧師とは、教会の仕事をやるだけで、あとは他者と変わらない
ということ、そして神父は聖職者として他信徒よりも一段高いところにいて
信者を統括するなど、その聖職者としての立場や役割は大きく異なるのです。

On the other hand, the priest's society is somewhat similar to a company organization. It can be seen in the fact that the Pope is the head of the Roman Catholic Church.

The clergy of Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Church have hierarchical ranks such as archbishop, protoiereus, priest, deacon, etc.

And there are also strict rules that the marriage is not allowed for the head of the clergy.

Thus, the pastor works only for a church and the rest of things are the same as the other. On the other hand, the priest is higher ranked than other believers and supervises the believers. Their positions and roles as clergy are vastly different.
